Water (Estimated Avoided Use)

This page presents benchmark-based estimates of water use avoided through the studio’s reclaimed textile sourcing model.

Where reclaimed textiles replace equivalent virgin textile production, benchmark ranges are used to estimate indicative avoided freshwater demand.

These figures are conservative and presented as ranges.

Scope

Studio textile material processing only.
Jewellery, packaging, delivery and downstream lifecycle impacts are excluded unless otherwise stated.

All figures are benchmark comparisons to equivalent virgin textile production and are not product-specific lifecycle assessments (LCAs).

Methodology (Summary)

Water benchmarks are based on published textile production averages for equivalent virgin cotton and blended textile production.

To remain conservative:

• Average material use per item is standardised.

• Cutting offcuts are estimated at ~10%.

• Ranges are shown instead of fixed values.

• Not all textiles are cotton; therefore values are presented as indicative ranges.

Actual impact varies by fibre type, weight and processing route.
