1. Purpose & Scope

This Sustainability, Circularity & Ethical Practices Disclaimer (“Statement”) outlines Mystic Moods Ltd’s approach to sustainability, responsible sourcing, circularity, and transparency.

It applies to all our operations, communications, online activities, product descriptions, and customer interactions.

It is designed to ensure compliance with:

  • The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) Green Claims Code,

  • The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008,

  • The Consumer Rights Act 2015, and

  • Relevant provisions of the Companies Act 2006 (Sections 172 and 417 on responsible business conduct).

2. Our Commitment

Mystic Moods Ltd is a sustainable fashion business committed to circular design, slow fashion principles, and ethical craftsmanship.

We prioritise materials, methods, and partnerships that reduce waste and promote long-term garment use.

Our work is rooted in three guiding principles:

  1. Circularity: Designing for longevity, repair, reuse, and restoration.

  2. Transparency: Disclosing material origins, production methods, and limitations.

  3. Integrity: Ensuring all sustainability claims are evidence-based and honestly represented.

We understand sustainability is a continual process, not a fixed achievement. We therefore commit to ongoing review and improvement of our materials, suppliers, and practices.

3. Transparency & Material Sourcing

  • We use a combination of deadstock, surplus, vintage, pre-owned and responsibly sourced new materials.

  • While we aim to select sustainable or circular materials, full traceability and certification may not be possible for every fabric or component, especially those from pre-owned or repurposed sources.

  • We work with suppliers and ateliers who align with our values but cannot warrant that all third-party activities meet specific sustainability or ethical criteria.

  • Any sustainability terms (e.g., “deadstock,” “reclaimed,” “sustainable,” or “ethical”) are used in good faith to describe sourcing intent and general material origin, not as legally binding guarantees of environmental performance.

4. Accuracy & Green Claims Compliance

Mystic Moods Ltd follows the CMA Green Claims Code which requires that:

  • All environmental claims are truthful, clear, and substantiated,

  • Claims do not omit or hide important information,

  • Comparisons are fair and meaningful, and

  • Products and services live up to the claims made.

We perform reasonable due diligence on suppliers, manufacturers, and materials before making any sustainability-related statements.

However, given the complexity of global supply chains and fabric reuse practices, Mystic Moods Ltd cannot accept liability for third-party representations or supplier misstatements beyond our reasonable control.

5. Circular Design & Product Lifecycle

  • Many Mystic Moods products are limited-editions, small-batch,  pre-owned, bespoke, made-to-order, or restored.

  • Variations, signs of wear, and individual characteristics are normal for pre-owned or restored items and do not constitute defects.

  • We encourage repairs, alterations, and recycling rather than disposal.

  • Packaging is selected for minimal waste and recyclability where possible.

We aim to provide care instructions to extend product life. We are not liable for damage caused by improper use or cleaning contrary to care guidance.

6. Social Responsibility & Ethical Standards

  • We collaborate with UK-based artisans and selected international partners who share our respect for fair treatment and safe working conditions.

  • We do not knowingly engage with or support child labour, forced labour, or unfair labour practices.

  • However, as a small enterprise, we acknowledge that supply chain transparency is limited to what is reasonable and proportionate.

  • We take corrective action or end relationships if suppliers are found to violate our ethical principles.

7. Limitations of Liability

While Mystic Moods Ltd operates with integrity and transparency, sustainability and circularity references are aspirational and descriptive, not contractual warranties or guarantees.

Accordingly:

  • We do not warrant that any product or service will meet specific environmental standards or third-party certifications unless expressly stated.

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from reliance on sustainability statements.

  • Nothing in this disclaimer excludes liability for fraud, negligence, or breach of statutory consumer rights.

This disclaimer forms part of our Terms & Conditions (Section 7A and 8A).

8. Continuous Improvement & Review

  • Our policies, suppliers, and practices are reviewed annually or when material changes occur.

  • Updates to this Statement will be published on www.mysticmoods.co.uk.

  • We invite feedback from customers, suppliers, and stakeholders to strengthen our approach.

9. Governance, Due Diligence & ESG Alignment

This Statement forms part of Mystic Moods Ltd’s ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) framework and may be used in investor due diligence or impact assessments.

The company keeps internal records of sourcing decisions, supplier communication, and product lifecycle data to support the accuracy of sustainability statements.

Mystic Moods Ltd directors recognise their legal duty under Section 172 of the Companies Act 2006 to promote the success of the company while having regard to environmental and community impacts.

10. Legal & Consumer Rights Notice

Nothing in this Statement affects or limits your rights under:

  • The Consumer Rights Act 2015,

  • The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013,

  • The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, or

  • Any other applicable UK law.
