Material processed is estimated from studio production records and average material use per item (ranges shown). Offcuts are estimated at the selected offcut rate unless overridden.

Carbon (t CO₂e)
2024 1.7–2.4
Water (k litres)
2024 405–608

Avoided virgin production is estimated using conservative benchmark ranges for equivalent virgin textile production. Actual impacts vary by fibre type, textile weight and processing route.

Reporting cycle: 2024
Scope: Studio textile material processing only. Jewellery, packaging and downstream lifecycle impacts are excluded unless otherwise stated.

Studio Material Record

2024 marked continued growth in studio production and material tracking at Mystic Moods. Textile processing increased while maintaining a reclaimed-first sourcing approach and fully local studio manufacturing.

This report reflects studio textile material processing only.

Scope

Studio textile material processing only.
Jewellery introduced in 2024 is excluded from textile material processing figures unless otherwise stated.
Packaging, delivery impacts and downstream lifecycle impacts are excluded.

Studio Activity Overview (2024)

  • Estimated material processed: ~120 metres

  • Estimated cutting offcuts generated: ~12 metres (~10%)

  • Reclaimed / deadstock material share: ~92%

  • Local production: 100% (studio-based)

Material processed is derived from internal production records and average material use per item.

Cutting offcuts are estimated using a conservative 10% studio cutting ratio.

Material Sourcing

In 2024, reclaimed textiles represented the majority of studio input materials.

Textile inputs included:

  • Deadstock fabrics (primary source)

  • Reclaimed vintage textiles

  • Limited certified organic cotton for selected pieces

Jewellery collections introduced during this year were produced from reclaimed and recycled materials and are outside the textile processing scope of this report.

No outsourced mass manufacturing was introduced during this period.

Estimated Avoided Virgin Production (Indicative)

Where reclaimed textiles replaced equivalent virgin textile production, estimated avoided impacts are calculated using conservative textile industry benchmark ranges.

Estimated avoided impact (2024):

  • Carbon: ~0.5–0.7 tonnes CO₂e

  • Water: ~115–173 thousand litres

These values are benchmark-based comparisons to equivalent virgin textile production and are indicative ranges. They are not product-specific lifecycle assessments (LCAs).
