CO₂ saved
CO₂ Saved (Estimated Avoided Emissions)
This page presents benchmark-based estimates of greenhouse gas emissions avoided through the studio’s use of reclaimed and deadstock textiles.
Where reclaimed materials replace equivalent virgin textile production, published industry benchmark ranges are used to estimate indicative avoided CO₂e emissions.
All figures are presented as ranges and should be interpreted as conservative estimates.
Scope
Studio textile material processing only.
Jewellery, packaging, delivery emissions and downstream lifecycle impacts are excluded unless otherwise stated.
Figures represent benchmark comparisons to equivalent virgin textile production and are not product-specific lifecycle assessments (LCAs).
Methodology (Summary)
Avoided emissions are estimated using published average carbon intensity benchmarks for equivalent virgin textile production (cotton and blended textile references).
To maintain conservative reporting:
-
Average material use per item is standardised.
-
Cutting offcuts are estimated at approximately 10%.
-
All impact values are presented as ranges rather than fixed figures.
-
Results reflect indicative avoided emissions, not certified carbon accounting.
Actual emissions vary by fibre composition, textile weight and processing route.
