Halo Ivory Sculptural Engineered Knit Dress

A one-off ivory sculptural dress created through engineered knit construction, designed and made in England by Alina Stanila.
The dress combines a close-fitting engineered bodice with exaggerated three-dimensional volume through the skirt. Viscose and monofilament are constructed into shaped sections that contour the body before expanding away from it, creating a highly architectural silhouette.
Cotton piping follows the curved construction lines throughout the garment, defining each section and making the structure of the piece visible as part of the design.
The skirt is supported by a separate petticoat, creating pronounced volume through the hips while retaining lightness and movement. The contrast between the narrow waist and expanded skirt gives the piece its distinctive sculptural proportion.
Functional pockets are incorporated into the sides of the skirt, while a side zip fastening maintains a clean uninterrupted line through the front and back of the garment.
Each section is individually developed, assembled and finished by hand.

Halo explores engineered textile construction through a compact sculptural silhouette, contrasting a close-fitting upper body with exaggerated rounded volume through the skirt.
Viscose and monofilament are engineered into shaped sections that follow the contours of the body, while cotton piping traces the construction lines and emphasises the curved architecture of the garment.
The fitted bodice transitions into a dramatically expanded skirt supported by a separate petticoat, creating the distinctive rounded silhouette. The petticoat may be worn beneath the dress to maximise its sculptural volume.
Practical side pockets are incorporated into the construction, balancing the experimental form with functionality.

Due to the specialist construction and sculptural shape, professional specialist cleaning is recommended. Do not machine wash, tumble dry or bleach. Store carefully without compressing the skirt structure, and keep the petticoat separately where possible to preserve its shape.
