Deconstructed Wool Suit Jacket & Half Skirt

A one-off deconstructed tailored set created from two vintage men’s suit jackets, designed and reconstructed in England by Alina Stanila.
The original jackets were taken apart and reworked into a new composition consisting of a structured jacket and coordinating half skirt. The design preserves elements of classic tailoring while disrupting their original function and placement.
Cut in 100% wool suiting, the piece combines sharp tailoring references with an asymmetric silhouette. The jacket features a structured stand collar, tailored construction and a relaxed, boxy proportion, while the half skirt introduces an off-centre layered element that reshapes the line of the suit.
Original tailoring components, including pockets, panel lines and construction details, are retained and repositioned to emphasise the garment’s reconstructed identity. Full padding and fusing remain part of the structure, giving the piece weight, shape and architectural presence.
The result is a one-off archive design that transforms traditional menswear into a contemporary statement in deconstructed tailoring.

This piece explores deconstruction, tailoring and transformation through the reconstruction of vintage menswear. Created from two vintage men’s suit jackets, the original garments were taken apart and reworked into a new composition consisting of a structured jacket and coordinating half skirt.
The design preserves the language of traditional tailoring — wool suiting, padding, fusing, pockets and sharp construction — while shifting it into an asymmetric contemporary silhouette. The result is a one-off archive piece that balances structure and disruption, combining the familiarity of classic menswear with a more experimental approach to form.

Relaxed fit through the jacket with structured shoulders and a tailored stand collar. The coordinating half skirt sits high on the waist and wraps across the body in an asymmetric line. Due to the tailored construction and specialist reconstruction, dry clean only. Do not machine wash, tumble dry or bleach. Steam lightly if needed and store on a well-shaped hanger to help preserve the structure of the jacket and skirt.
