Contour Black Cotton & Monofilament Sculptural Coat

A one-off black sculptural coat combining engineered cotton construction with contrasting nude monofilament, designed and made in England by Alina Stanila.
The principal textile is 100% cotton, dyed black in-house to achieve the deep tonal finish of the garment. Nude monofilament is integrated throughout the construction, introducing transparent sections that contrast with the density of the cotton.
Curved structural lines contour the upper body before developing into increasingly voluminous sections through the lower coat. The repeated engineered forms create depth, movement and an architectural silhouette while the monofilament allows areas of the body and underlying clothing to remain partially visible.
The upper section remains comparatively fitted, balancing the exaggerated volume below. Sculptural shoulder detailing extends the silhouette while preserving the lightness of the garment.
The coat closes at the front using discreet hook-and-eye fastenings, maintaining a clean uninterrupted construction line.

Contour explores the relationship between structure, transparency and volume through engineered textile construction.
The coat combines 100% cotton, dyed black in-house, with nude monofilament sections that introduce lightness and transparency throughout the garment. Curved construction lines follow the body before expanding into larger sculptural sections through the lower silhouette.
The contrast between the dense black cotton and translucent monofilament reveals the architecture of the garment, allowing the construction itself to become part of the visual design.
A close, sculpted upper body gives way to exaggerated volume through the lower coat, creating a dramatic silhouette while retaining movement and softness. The coat fastens discreetly at the front with hook-and-eye closures.

Sculpted through the upper body with increasing volume through the lower coat. Store carefully without compressing the sculptural lower sections, and avoid prolonged strain on the transparent monofilament areas.
